I. What is a Vertical Liquid Packaging Machine?

A vertical liquid packaging machine, as the name suggests, is a machine that keeps material bags upright during the packaging process. It uses roll film (a rolled packaging film) to automatically complete the entire process of bag making, metering and filling, sealing, and cutting. The final product is a back-sealed or four-side-sealed pillow-shaped packaging bag.

Key Features:

Vertical Bag Making: The packaging bag is formed from a flat film into a cylindrical shape on the forming device, and then pulled vertically downwards for filling and sealing.

Using Roll Film: Lower cost, flexible packaging style changes.

Continuous Movement: High working efficiency, suitable for large-scale production.

II. Main Structure and Working Process

Unwinding and Tension Control: The packaging film roll is installed on the machine, and a tension system ensures that the film is conveyed flat and at a uniform speed.

Forming and Sealing: The flat film passes through a forming device and is rolled into a cylindrical shape. Simultaneously, the machine's sealing device heat-seals the sides of the film, forming a continuous cylindrical bag.

Film Pulling and Positioning: A film pulling mechanism, driven by a servo motor or stepper motor, pulls the cylindrical film downwards a bag length.

Metering and Filling: The machine pauses when the bag reaches below the filling nozzle. A metering pump (such as a piston pump or gear pump) injects the liquid material into the bag through the filling head according to a preset capacity.

Key: Different pumps and filling valve technologies are used for liquids with different properties (such as water, oil, sauces, and yogurt) to prevent dripping, foaming, etc.

Horizontal Sealing and Cutting: After filling, the upper and lower horizontal sealing devices operate simultaneously to seal the top (closing the top of the current bag) and the bottom (forming the bottom for the next bag). At the same time, a cutter separates the two bags in the middle.

Finished Product Output: Individually packaged bags exit the machine and can be conveyed to the next process (such as boxing, coding, etc.).

III. Main Classifications Vertical liquid packaging machines can be classified according to different standards:

1. By Filling Method:

Atmospheric Pressure Filling: Suitable for free-flowing liquids such as mineral water, juice, soy sauce, vinegar, etc.

Negative Pressure Filling: Suitable for easily foaming liquids such as beer, cola, shampoo, etc.

Pressure Filling: Suitable for viscous liquids or liquids containing particles, such as ketchup, yogurt, detergent, etc.

2. By Packaging Form:

Pillow Bag Packaging Machine: The most common type, producing pillow-shaped bags.

Perforated Bag Packaging Machine: Perforates the top of the bag during packaging for easy hanging and sales.

Continuous Bag Packaging Machine: Can produce multiple bags connected together at once (e.g., 4-pack, 6-pack beverage bags).

3. By Automation Level:

Fully Automatic: Completes the entire process from film feeding to finished product output automatically, requiring only manual replenishment of film rolls and materials.

Semi-Automatic: Requires manual bagging; the machine then completes filling and sealing. Suitable for small-batch, multi-variety production.
